Tips for IB Chemistry SL & HL

Revise your notes! One of the most important things you can have time to do is this. You are more able to recall and execute them effectively in a number of questions by analyzing your notes with the information already in your memory! Use your notes to be your best friend. Use them.

Watch Richard Thornley, MSJ Chem, on Youtube after going through your notes to consolidate your skills. Their material is succinct but very easy to grasp and follow. They are so good at getting you to fully understand the ideas and how you can use them in exams, etc. MSJ chem has a platform for discovering worksheets that you can use.

Do the Question Benches! Versions 2 and 3 are extremely helpful, particularly to help you understand the sort of questions that might be posed by the final exam or even the teacher's examination. They show ideas and occasionally even tell you the shortcomings in trying to answer any questions from some students. I recommend you do these, if you have them, before unit tests.

Find the subject of your IA and query early! Later on in the course, this will save you a lot of time. Only believe me. By looking at the Teacher Help Content for Chemistry, reading the book beforehand, or by looking up videos on youtube, you can do this. Andrew Weng has an IAs playlist and has some very nice examples there. There, you should be able to find some inspiration.

The IA is supposed to be a booster of grades, so do it quickly. (make sure that quantitative data can be collected from your subject, not just qualitative data)

Whenever you don't understand something, ask questions! Yeah, this may bug the instructor just a little bit, but that's nothing compared to having the opportunity to clear up any form of misunderstanding you may have at the moment. One unit is in some way connected to another. You can not comprehend something if you don't understand one concept/unit. So, please take your chance to ask your instructor about it.
